South Korea, There Designed Fabric That Reliably Kills Viruses Of Influenza

December 4, 2009.
The researchers from Chhonbuk State University in the South Korean city of Jeonju in the province of Jeollabuk developed the first time the tissue that kills viruses of flu, local media reported today. The threads of this material safely sterilize viruses like H1N1 and avian influenza.

The effectiveness of the new material was tested and confirmed in laboratory tests conducted by the National Quarantine Service and veterinary studies of RK.

If all the rats, which influenza virus was introduced through the usual filters, eventually died, the pilot batch, which received the virus through the new filter, did not show any biological changes except for some weight loss. Tests conducted separately by the developers of the new item, also showed the ability to successfully deactivate the dangerous virus.

The developers have already registered the patent for their discovery, which, they hope, will allow wide use of new material for the manufacture of protective masks, medical apparel and air filters.
