Stem Cells Will Help Create A New Skin

French researchers say that they found a way to use human embryonic stem cells to create a new skin, which could help the victims of serious burns. Embryonic stem cells for a short time can change in any of 200 types of cells in a human body.

The researchers duplicated biological steps leading to the formation of the skin during embryonic development. Received results will help solve the problem of people restoration after receiving severe burns, say the researchers.

For over 20 years, there has been technology to grow a new skin in the laboratory using own cells of the patients suffered severely from burning. However, it takes up to 3 weeks, and at this time patients' lives are under threat due to dehydration and infection.

Transplant skin from corpses is not always possible; moreover, there are frequent cases of rejection such a skin by the immune system of the patient.
