The Cells Of The Immune System Are Important For Normal Pregnancy

November 19, 2009.
University of Adelaide researchers have discovered a new cause of infertility and miscarriages. Scientists studied immune system cells or macrophages in the ovaries: eggs around in hormone-reproduced structures.

With the exhaustion of these cells there is the reduction of progesterone, which is responsible for the development of the egg and pregnancy.

Scientists believe that macrophages are involved in the formation of blood vessels needed to supply the fetus.

Smoking, obesity, stress and malnutrition change the behavior of macrophages, causing infertility and miscarriages.
