Ultrasonic pulse therapy is effective in
treating erectile dysfunction, reported FOX. This conclusion was made by a group of specialists of European Society of Sexual Medicine under the direction of Mr. Yoram Vardi from Rambam Medical Center in Haifa, Israel.
The study involved 20 men who suffered from erectile dysfunction of moderate severity caused by the blood circulation of the penis. All study participants underwent two three-week course of treatment. Twice a week, there performed sessions of pulsed ultrasound therapy.
When medical procedures, the ultrasonic pulses of low power were fed to different parts of the penis of patients for a few minutes.
At the end of the experiment, the sexual function of 15 men who received treatment, improved significantly. In addition, scientists have not documented undesirable effects associated with the use of a new method of treatment.
Six months after treatment, 12 out of 15 patients stated that they ceased to use drugs for the treatment of erectile dysfunction. Mr. Vardi said that those drugs provide only a functional improvement, and added that ultrasound therapy can help the majority of the patients.
