The scientists from the Medical Research Foundation in Oklahoma City have created a way to save the lives of people affected by car accidents or during the hostilities. Their discovery will help to
treat severe infections and diabetes.
The scientists began studying proteins histones, enter the bloodstream and erode the surface of blood vessels and subsequently causing bleeding. They found an antibody that is able to resist this deadly process.
The cells of histones store DNA condensed in the nucleus. When cell damage, infections and diabetes, they fall in the blood and destroys blood vessels. Bleeding and accumulation of fluid in the tissues are hazardous to life.
The scientists have already tested the antibodies, and found that their introduction does not cause side effects. The discovery helps to understand why people, who have experienced trauma, often die from secondary effects of injury. Ability to manage a cascade of traumatic reactions will save the lives of many patients.
